The Sotomayor WILDCATS's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 20-19 to Warren. Sotomayor lost against Warren in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 41-9 score last time.
Despite the loss, Sotomayor still got an impressive performance from Jayden Gutierrez, who rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Gutierrez's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Elijah Realzola, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Sotomayor's defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Warren, Brennan, and Harlan. As for Warren, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Sotomayor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Warren also has no future games currently scheduled.
