The Santa Barbara Dons had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Buena at home to the tune of 43-0. The result was nothing new for Santa Barbara, who have now won five games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Koa Herrera, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Abel Renteria, who threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Santa Barbara's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Buena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Santa Barbara will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (St. Paul is ranked 87th, while Santa Barbara is ranked 108th). Buena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
