East will head out on the road to challenge the McKinley Red Dragons at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
East suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-21 walloping at the hands of Harding. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat East has suffered against Harding since January 28, 2017.
Meanwhile, McKinley suffered a tough 59-38 loss at the hands of Poland Seminary on Monday. While losing is never fun, McKinley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while Poland Seminary is ranked 274th).
Kherington Stanford was McKinley's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Katie Heinselman held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with six assists.
East's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for McKinley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Everything came up roses for East against McKinley in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 53-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
