Carter is 0-10 against Lincoln since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carter Cowboys will look to defend their home court against the Lincoln Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Carter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Roosevelt 52-19 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-6.
Tyari Ray continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Gabby Guyton, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln waltzed into their game on Friday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They blew past Roosevelt 69-11 at home. Lincoln has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Carter is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Lincoln, their win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
Carter suffered a grim 60-35 defeat to Lincoln in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Carter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
