Baseball Recap: Fossil Ridge Wins Going Away Against Fort Collins

Fossil Ridge had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fort Collins on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Fort Collins. The contest marked the SaberCats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Tyler Kephart and Zach Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Kephart pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kephart has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Kephart scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Hall scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Kephart has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Fossil Ridge got a massive performance out of Mason Griffin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Griffin has posted since back in April of 2024. Sam Goodrum also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Fossil Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Fossil Ridge's record now sits at 4-1. As for Fort Collins, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Fossil Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fort Collins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
