South Bend Career Academy extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They came up short against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles, falling 50-5. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Trailblazers' highest-scoring contest to date.

South Bend Career Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Rose, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Keemon Chambliss was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 13.8 runs per game.

On Elkhart Christian Academy's side, they got a massive performance out of Isaac Hurt, who went a perfect 9-for-9 with nine RBI, five runs, and one triple. Those nine RBI gave Hurt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Castro, who got on base in eight of his nine plate appearances with eight runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

Looking ahead, South Bend Career Academy will take on South Shore Homeschool Athletics at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trailblazers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will challenge Culver Community at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.6 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
