The Bowman Academy Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by South Bend Career Academy on the road to the tune of 59-7. The win was some much needed relief for Bowman Academy as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Bowman Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kahlen Robinson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ariana Grveles, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, South Bend Career Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Bowman Academy back to even at 9-9. As for South Bend Career Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy and Michigan City will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Bend Career Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Bend Clay at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully South Bend Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
