Ritchie County was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ravenswood on Friday. Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor no matter where she played. Ritchie County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Calhoun's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ritchie County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. It's a different story for Calhoun, though, as they've only averaged .303. Will they be able to contain Ritchie County's hitters?
Ritchie County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Calhoun by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
