Chewelah was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They lost  3-0 to the Northport Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the  3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2024.
 Chewelah was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15,  25-21.
 Northport found their leader in sophomore  Kate Beardslee, who  had 15  kills, seven  digs,  and four  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Dalilah Colton, who  had 27  assists.

 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chewelah will head out to  challenge Selkirk  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Northport, they will face off against Riverside at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
