On Friday, The Avalon Lancers faced the Sage Hill Lightning in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Avalon took their match at home with ease, bagging a 63-26 victory over Sage Hill. The result was nothing new for Avalon, who have now won six matchups by 37 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Sage Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danyel Khan. Despite the final result, he picked up 242 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Avalon's win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Sage Hill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Avalon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sage Hill also has no future games currently scheduled.
