Baseball Game Preview: Raceland Rams vs. Russell Red Devils

For the second straight game, Raceland will face off against Russell. The Rams will take on the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Raceland has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Raceland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Russell. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Kadin Shore made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Bryer Parsons looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Shore wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Raceland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Raceland's record now sits at 11-4. As for Russell, they dropped their record down to 10-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Raceland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434.
