The Carlisle County Comets will challenge the Ballard Memorial Bombers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ballard Memorial took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Carlisle County, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Carlisle County made easy work of Fulton County and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Koltyn Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Carlisle County: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 8-9 otherwise. Jaxon Lemons was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Carlisle County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ballard Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Graves County.
Reed Duren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ballard Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nic Boulton, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Carlisle County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ballard Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.
Carlisle County came out on top in a nail-biter against Ballard Memorial in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
