The Kemp Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 9-1 defeat at the hands of Mabank. Kemp was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 7-0.
Their goal came courtesy of
Gracie Vasquez, who's now up to six this season.
Kemp's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Mabank, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kemp will take on Ford at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ford's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 13 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Mabank, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Sunnyvale at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. Mabank will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.
