Forreston had lost 15 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-15 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Hiawatha Hawks 19-4. The Cardinals' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
Emma Hundertmark made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Kylie Dieterman looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Nevaeh Scheffner was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Caroline Bawinkel, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs.
Forreston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hiawatha only managed four hits.
As for Hiawatha, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. On the bright side, the four- run performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.
On Hiawatha's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Molloy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that Molloy has scored this season. Nelly Delvalle was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forreston will face off against Durand at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hiawatha, they will challenge Alden-Hebron at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
