After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, the Red Lion Christian Swordsmen came back down to earth. Red Lion Christian took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Red Lion Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Red Lion Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Burns`, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burns` has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruben De Los Santos, who scored ten points along with five steals.
It was another big night for Gabe Kearney, who scored 22 points for Carlisle Christian Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kearney has scored at least a third of Carlisle Christian Academy's points. Collin Wevodau was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Red Lion Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Carlisle Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Red Lion Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Carlisle Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Defenders at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Blue Mountain Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
