The Valdosta Wildcats won the last time they faced the Lee County Trojans, and things went their way on Monday too. Valdosta took down Lee County 60-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valdosta.
Valdosta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jabarri Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Jenrette, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
Lee County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brandon Blue, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blue has scored all season. Braden Moore was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists and two steals.
Valdosta has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
Valdosta will head out on the road to take on Colquitt County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Houston County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Lee County likes a good challenge.
