Basketball Recap: Lake View Piles Up the Points Against Reagan County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake View). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 71-28 victory over the Reagan County Owls. The Chiefs/Maidens pushed the score to 57-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Owls had little chance of recovering from.

Lake View found their leader in sophomore Luke Barron, who shot 62% from the field en route to 19 points and three steals. Those 62% shooting accuracy set a new season-high mark for Barron. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Torres, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points.

Lake View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Lake View's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Reagan County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Lake View will look to defend their home court on December 4 against Ysleta at 1:00 p.m. As for Reagan County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sonora at 1:00 p.m. on December 4.
