Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Genna Lehocki and Ahni Nix Lead Warrensburg to Victory

While Warrensburg has struggled at home with eight straight losses dating back to last season, that wasn't the case on Wednesday thanks to Riley Huck. The Burgers came out on top against the Corinth Riverhawks by a score of 3-1 thanks in part to Huck, who had 30 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more digs the last 13 times she's played.

Warrensburg had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Warrensburg was led to victory by Ahni Nix and Genna Lehocki. Nix had 17 assists and four aces, while Lehocki had nine kills, three aces, and two blocks. That's the most aces Nix has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikaela Smith, who had five kills and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Warrensburg was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corinth only served eight.

Corinth's loss came despite strong showings from Valerie Hunt and Lauren Rhodes. Hunt had 13 assists and five digs, while Rhodes had four aces.

Warrensburg's record is now 4-8. As for Corinth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Warrensburg has already played their next match (against Hadley Luzerne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Corinth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Fort Edward on the 17th.
