Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Valley). They put the hurt on the Goldwater Bulldogs with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. The Skyhawks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.
Jackson Fellens was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Logan Carlson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Deer Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Deer Valley picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5-1. As for Goldwater, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
