On Tuesday, Merritt Island made easy work of Cocoa Beach and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Merritt Island took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-8, 25-8.

Amber Ives had a dynamite game, getting eight aces and three digs. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high.
Ives wasn't the only good server: Merritt Island was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Satellite, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Viera 3-2.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Satellite got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-6.
Merritt Island's record is now 10-2. As for Satellite, their record now sits at 5-3.
Everything went Merritt Island's way against Satellite in their previous meeting back in August, as Merritt Island made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Scorpions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
