The Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Academy of Notre Dame Lancers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Innovation Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sam Horace, who scored 17 points along with 8 steals and 5 assists. Ayden Rogers was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Innovation Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Academy of Notre Dame, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Innovation Academy will challenge Dracut at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Academy of Notre Dame, they will head out on the road to face off against Minuteman Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
