The Deshler Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Florence. Deshler was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Florence apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Florence can attribute much of their success to Julian King, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals and 3 blocks. Pj Key was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Deshler has fallen quite a ways from their 12-3 record last season and are now at 1-4. As for Florence, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deshler will take on Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Florence, they will be playing at home against Mae Jemison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Mae Jemison is ranked 87th, while Florence is ranked 81st).
