The Shorewood Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 68 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Milwaukee Lutheran 96-68. While losing is never fun, Shorewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Milwaukee Lutheran is ranked 171st).
It was another big night for Isaiah Allen, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds for Milwaukee Lutheran. The contest was Allen's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Makhai Jewell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Shorewood's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shorewood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cudahy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Cudahy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Greendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
