Fruitport put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Godwin Heights Wolverines get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Brooklyn Russell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Kendall Lee was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madyson Prout, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
