4A/3A Conference 2 recap October 22, 2013
Hibriten added to the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 2 this week by beating Watauga, 45-44. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
St. Stephens fell to Hickory 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Jahiz Linebarger was a beast in the backfield as the Red Tornadoes beat the Indians.
Linebarger provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hickory beat St. Stephens. Linebarger's favorite target this week was Ryan Honeycutt, who caught 4 passes for 34 yards.
Linebarger was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 230 yards on 16 carries as Mike Helms' team topped South Caldwell. Teammate Jaquan Crawford added to the ground attack by rushing for 73 yards.
Freedom's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Titus Smith has thrown for 1,106 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Gardin has 42 catches for 759 yards.
As it stands, the Patriots are in third, while Hibriten is in first.
