It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Garrison Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 win over Beckville. That's another feather in the cap for Garrison, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Garrison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javien Black, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. Black's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Omarion Rasberry, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
The win makes it two in a row for Garrison and bumps their season record up to 11-1. As for Beckville, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Garrison will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cooper. Cooper is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games. Beckville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
