Central Arkansas Christian had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bigelow Panthers. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.
Kayla Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Hannah Hughes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Jansen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Central Arkansas Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Bigelow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Arkansas Christian will head out to square off against Mt. Vernon-Enola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bigelow, they will venture away from home to challenge Sacred Heart at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
