Those 14 points gave Carter a new career-high. Brontae Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine boards.
Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bowdon's game on Tuesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 63-56 win over Trion. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 431st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bowdon's win came from a few key players that Manchester will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Timothy Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last 19 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Haehnlein, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.
Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Bowdon, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Manchester has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 52.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bowdon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
