The Wayne County Wildcats waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Collinwood at home to the tune of 66-37. Given Wayne County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Collinwood is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Wayne County to victory were Cayman Camfield and Justice Bell. Camfield dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Bell scored 22 points along with four steals. Camfield has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sayler Skelton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Wayne County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Collinwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Wayne County will head out on the road to face off against Perry County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Collinwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
