The Fishburne Military Caissons will challenge The Covenant Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Covenant took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fishburne Military, who comes in off a win.
Fishburne Military headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Eastern Mennonite let them put that streak behind them. The Caissons blew past the Flames 11-4 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Caissons in their matchups with the Flames: they've now won seven in a row.

Cooper Ezersky was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Benjamin Gilroy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Simon Frankson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for The Covenant's offense. They fell just short of North Cross by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
The Covenant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Latham Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base. Clark is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
The Covenant's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Fishburne Military, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fishburne Military has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The Covenant struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fishburne Military suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to The Covenant in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Caissons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
