Given Jac-Cen-Del's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Switzerland County is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jac-Cen-Del's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sophia Sullivan, who scored 17 points along with seven steals, and Kelsey Borgman, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Sullivan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Hinners, who scored five points along with four steals.
Rising Sun suffered their biggest loss since November 3, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 57-37 defeat at the hands of Trinity Lutheran. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rising Sun in their matchups with Trinity Lutheran: they've now lost six in a row.
Jac-Cen-Del has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Rising Sun, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Jac-Cen-Del didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rising Sun when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win.
