Softball Recap: Pleasant Valley Wins Going Away Against Parkland

Pleasant Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Parkland on Wednesday. The Bears blew past the Trojans 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brianca Pridham was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Renee Frable also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pleasant Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive matches.

Pleasant Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Parkland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.

Coming up, Pleasant Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Wallenpaupack Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
