Highland is 0-2 against Alta since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Highland Rams will be staying on the road to face off against the Alta Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on October 20th.
Two weeks ago, Highland ended up a good deal behind East and lost 25-7.
Meanwhile, Alta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Cedar Valley.
Alta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Cottis, who gained 233 total yards. Another player making a difference was Kepa Niumeitolu, who threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes.
Alta's victory bumped their season record to 7-3 while Highland's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.
Highland suffered a grim 34-14 defeat to Alta in their previous meeting back in September. Can Highland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
