The Silver Stage Nighthawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by North Tahoe 52-16. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Silver Stage in their matchups with North Tahoe: they've now lost six in a row.
North Tahoe was led to victory by Alana Hendricks and Makenna Alter. Hendricks scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Alter scored 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alter has scored all season. Laura Couwenhoven was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Silver Stage bumped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for North Tahoe, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Silver Stage will head out on the road to face off against Incline at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Incline comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. North Tahoe won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Coral Academy of Science - Reno is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
