The Sidney Yellowjackets entered their tilt with the Troy Trojans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Sidney came out on top against Troy by a score of 40-29 on Saturday. Given Sidney's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Troy is ranked 556th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Troy's loss came despite strong showings from Riley King and Carmen Brooks. King scored 11 points along with three steals, while Brooks scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season.
Troy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sidney has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Troy, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Sidney will take on Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Xenia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to challenge Tippecanoe at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
