Jamestown and Hickory are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Muskies will challenge the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jamestown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Jamestown is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Grove City just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 6-3 to the Eagles.

Miranda Biles was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Alayna Cadman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Hickory made easy work of Franklin on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.
Like Jamestown, Hickory also got a great game from a two-way player: AJ Jarzab. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Jarzab was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Hickory got a massive performance out of Payton Leunis, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Leunis a new career-high. Olivia Schneider was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Hickory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only posted an OBP of .227.
Hickory's record is now 2-5. As for Jamestown, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.
Hickory's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jamestown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. It's a different story for Hickory, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Jamestown's hitters?
