Liberty Common and Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. Liberty Common will head out on the road to face off against Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Liberty Common is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Liberty Common had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 25-run drubbing they dealt Fort Lupton on Thursday. Liberty Common was the clear victor by a 25-0 margin over Fort Lupton. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.
Gabe Krapes and Owen Hood were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Krapes pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hood pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Krapes scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Hood scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Hood has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Bowyn Caudill and Roman Galindo did most of the damage at the plate: Caudill scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Galindo scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Galindo is becoming a predictor of Liberty Common's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Raphael McDanald, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Liberty Common was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Valley, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against Highland by a score of 17-12 on Thursday. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Liberty Common's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.
Liberty Common beat Valley 13-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty Common since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
