The South Harrison Hawks came into Saturday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Tygarts Valley by a score of 60-53 on Saturday. The victory was just what South Harrison needed coming off of a 61-29 defeat in their prior match.
Despite the defeat, Tygarts Valley had strong showings from Kaden Moore, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Malachi Somers, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Somers is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Mcgee, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
South Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Tygarts Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
South Harrison will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tygarts Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Notre Dame is ranked 85th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 86th).
