It was a good run, but the Brunswick Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 84-54 loss at the hands of Grovetown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brunswick in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Brunswick had strong showings from Caleb Butler, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Craig Battle, who scored 14 points. Jaylin Lane was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Grovetown, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brunswick will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grovetown, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Terrors at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Glynn Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully the Warriors like a good challenge.
