It was a good run, but Winside unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 40-22 fall against the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers. The Wildcats lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-22 score last time.
Although Winside took the loss, they still got scores from Carter Krause, Jayden Aschoff, and Asher Uttecht.

Bancroft-Rosalie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylon Wegner out in front who picked up 193 receiving yards and two scores. With that strong performance, Wegner is now averaging an impressive 107.7 receiving yards per game. Jaden Browning was another key player, throwing for 224 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Winside's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.
