Glades Central hasn't had much luck against Glades Day recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Glades Central took a loss when they played away from home on March 13th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Pahokee.

Juan Mojica was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Glades Day and Berean Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Glades Day put the hurt on Berean Christian with a sharp 16-1 win last Thursday. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Adrian Baeza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Taranza McKelvin Jr was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Burch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Glades Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Glades Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Glades Day, their record now sits at 5-9.
Glades Central suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to Glades Day when the teams last played back in February. Can Glades Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
