The Southland Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Holcomb 68-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southland in their matchups with Holcomb: they've now lost seven in a row.
Holcomb's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Kenner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob Reeves-Crittendon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Southland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Holcomb, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Southland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eagle Ridge Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for Holcomb, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Puxico at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Puxico is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
