Manhattan is on a 13-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Lawrence Free State is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Manhattan Indians will take on the Lawrence Free State Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Manhattan took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 69-14 victory over Southeast. With Manhattan ahead 57-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manhattan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kha'mario Davis, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Jaydin Hudley was another key contributor, rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Free State made easy work of Garden City on Friday and carried off a 42-21 victory. Lawrence Free State pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Garden City cut but never quite recovered from.
Their wins bumped Manhattan to 8-1 and Lawrence Free State to 7-2.
