The Casady Cyclones pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Lexington. While losing is never fun, Casady can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 888th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 230th).
Despite the loss, Casady had strong showings from Trinity Boone, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Kate Naifeh, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Naifeh continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Casady has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Casady will head out on the road to challenge the Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverfield Country Day is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Cyclones a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Lexington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
