East Lansing extended their winning streak to 21 games thanks to a huge performance from Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr.. The East Lansing Trojans put the hurt on the Huron River Rats with a sharp 72-49 win on Tuesday which was due in part to Torbert, Jr., who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 73% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in March of 2024.
Another player making a difference was Cameron Hutson, who went 8-for-16 en route to 20 points and seven boards. His big performance that evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.
East Lansing's victory bumped their record up to 26-1. As for Huron, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 22-5 record.
Looking ahead, East Lansing will take on St. Mary's Prep in a tournament on Friday. East Lansing is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. Huron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
