With a playoff win on the line, Patuxent rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dunbar Poets, sneaking past 8-6. The Panthers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
A big part of Patuxent's win came down to the chemistry between Evan Blouir and his top target Keiden Gutierrez. Blouir rushed for 109 yards while Gutierrez picked up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gutierrez got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 71 yards.
Patuxent's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Dunbar, the loss snapped their winning streak at 24 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 13-1 record.
