Basketball Recap: Monticello Extends Winning Streak to Four

Monticello waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Williamsville Bullets with points to spare, taking the game 51-35. For the Sages, this counts as revenge for the 53-50 victory the Bullets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Monticello's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ali Weidner, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points and three steals. Sarah Cresap was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Monticello smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Williamsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.

Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamsville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 34-31 win against Illini Central/Greenview on the 13th.
