Kilgore is 9-1 against Carthage since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kilgore Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Carthage Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After failing to score in their last contest, Kilgore made sure to put some goals up on the board against Spring Hill on Monday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Carthage kept a clean sheet against Tatum on Tuesday. They blew past the Eagles 5-0. The win made it back-to-back wins for Carthage.
They hit Tatum with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Brynna Hill (2),
Kensington Travis (2), and
Megan Urbina.
Kilgore's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those four contests. As for Carthage, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season.
Kilgore took their win against Carthage in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kilgore since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
