Boaz entered their tilt with Douglas on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Boaz pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Douglas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boaz will venture away from home to take on Mountain Brook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Douglas, they will head out to challenge Section at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
