Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Oceanside Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 26-11 bruising from Del Norte on Friday.
Leading Del Norte to victory were Ty Olsen and Jack Schneider. Olsen picked up 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Schneider threw for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Del Norte's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Khalid Farah was the leader with two sacks.
Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Del Norte, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Oceanside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Del Norte will stay at home for another week and welcome Point Loma at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Point Loma's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
